Whole Display

This is what the house looked like for Halloween 2007. It went over great! At one time we had about 30 people on the sidewalk looking at everything. I was dressed as my usual pirate handing out loot.

Spider full moon

For 2007 The spider is back with some new fangs. He has been busy too! He captured a Trick or Treater. Unfortunately this little trick o treater wasn't wearing a costume. Big spiders just "LOVE" Trick or treaters not in costumes!

This is the best picture I got for 2007. Ther was a full moon on the Friday before Halloween. I saw it rising and ran and got the camera. I took about 60 pictures, using every setting the camera had.

The Patch

The PATCH! We had the biggest patch of jack-o-lanterns in 2007. We carved 46. My hands were sore for a few days after this endevor.... Also I noticed that there is something in pumpkin juice that is very drying to skin. To tell the truth I was totally out of ideas by the time I was done.

The Patch

Another picture of the PATCH. If you look closely there are 12 pumpkins that are not lit. These were hooked up to the controller on the ground.

The Patch

This is a daytime picture of the display. Some of the highlights year were the spider, web, caught kid w/o costume, tiki torches, 46 hand carved Jack-o-lanterns, flying ghost, graveyard, lightning, and 12 syncronized to music jack-o-lanterns. They are on seperate channels of the controller and are sequenced to three different songs. They were Aadams family, Monster mash, and Ghostbusters. All the music had a thunderstorm track mixed with them. Six channels of another controller were hooked up to blue spotlights in the tree. these lit up the entire yard and house just like real lightning. There was also 10 curtain strobelights in the tree to add to the lightning effect. So the sound could be heard I played the soundtrack with my Christmas transmitter and tuned in my home surround sound setup to 88.5 FM. I put the right and left channel speakers in the front windows and the subwoofer on the front porch.

The Patch

We had a bumper crop of Habanero peppers this year so one of them became our first Jack O Lantern of the season. He even looks like his mouth is on fire!

We are carved a whole bunch of pumpkins this year for the "Patch". There were a total of 46 carved pumpkins. All of them were lighted with 7 watt nightlights that I bought via Ebay $10 for the lot! I saw a bunch of jack-o-lantern pics on the internet so I tried some new techniques this year. I think the easiest best looking technique I tried was carving teeth into a few without skin they were easy and quick to take them to the next level.

My sons even got into the act this year and carved a few.

The Patch The Patch

To carve some of the pumpkins they were only carved part way through to give light ad dark features. This made a lot of the jack-o-lanterns look unique. Like these two.

Some of the ideas I got were from movies and the internet.
